NPLD: A modern, self-managing website and virtual reality experience
About the company
Sector: NGO / European network
The Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD) is a pan-European organization that works to promote, protect and disseminate linguistic diversity in Europe. It is made up of governments, universities and organizations that promote policies and projects related to regional and minority languages. Its institutional website is a key channel for communicating its mission, events, publications and resources to an international and multilingual audience.

The challenge
NPLD’s website was outdated, with a complex and unfriendly structure, making it difficult to communicate news, events and resources to its audience. In addition, the team was constantly relying on external developers to update the site. At the same time, the organization was looking to innovate in the way it communicated its cultural and educational mission, exploring new formats that would connect with young and diverse audiences.
Objectives
of the project
1. Renovate an obsolete and impractical institutional web site
2. Improve communication of mission, news and events to a diverse European audience.
3. Facilitatethe self-management of content without depending on developers.
4. Create a clear, navigable and multilingual structure.
5. Incorporate innovation with a virtual reality experience that would make Europe’s cultural and linguistic diversity visible.
